H.U.G.S School Program

Meagan Bebenek Foundation’s school program is designed to empower students to create positive change within their communities while raising awareness and support for paediatric brain tumour research. Rooted in four core values— Hope, Understanding, Gratitude, and Support—the program nurtures optimism, compassion, emotioal resilience and compassion among youth.

In today’s fast-paced world, classrooms are more than academic spaces—they are environments where students develop the social, emotional, and personal skills crucial for navigating life. Educators have the unique opportunity—and responsibility—to nurture not only the minds but also the hearts of students. Teaching values like Hope, Understanding, Gratitude, and Support has a profound impact on students' well-being and long-term success.

By integrating Hope, Understanding, Gratitude, and Support into education, educators cultivate a learning environment where students thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. These values build resilience, empathy, and a sense of belonging, shaping compassionate, confident individuals prepared to succeed both in and beyond the classroom.

Why Bring H.U.G.S to Your School?

Beyond the realm of medicine, MBF extends its reach into communities and schools, fostering a culture of kindness and unity. Their school program not only educates children about the value of community but also emphasizes the profound impact of a simple hug. In a world that often feels divided, MBF serves as a reminder of the power of connection and compassion. - Margot Denomme

The Meagan Bebenek Foundation Post-Secondary program is focused on uniting and empowering young adults to make a difference in the lives of children and families with a brain tumour diagnosis. The program is a natural progression from our elementary and high school offerings, creating opportunities for students to continuously grow and develop their leadership, compassion and advocacy skills with the Meagan Bebenek Foundation. Each school community is a collective of unique students with bright ideas, and Meagan Bebenek Foundation is focused on supporting our partners with all initiatives.
