About the Role

Meagan Bebenek Foundation a registered Canadian charity focused on creating a world where no children suffer from brain tumours. We are seeking a volunteer to support the planning and day of execution of our signature HUG Event in the capacity of Transportation Team Lead. Working closely with the Site Leads you will provide direction to a team of volunteers responsible for parking and shuttle buses on event day.

The successful candidate will be a highly organized individual with strong leadership and communication skills. They will be local to the Toronto area or willing to travel at their own expense to be present on event day - May 11, 2024.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a difference in the community but can’t commit to a year-round volunteer arrangement.

Requirements

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in regular event planning meetings (approximately 2 per month)

  • Working in partnership with HUG Team to determining resourcing needs and route placement

  • Provide work assignment and instruction to volunteers 

  • Set-up parking area and signage on event day

  • Direct parking in a safe manner ensuring cars are directed to the correct lots / zones

  • Tear down of signage and pylons post event

  • Oversee shuttle bus loading and departures  ensuring safety measures are in place

  • Coordinate handicap transport services if required on day of event



Time Commitment:

  • 2 to 3 hours / month (January to May)

  • In person participation at HUG Event
